It was established in Valencia by Ursuline Franciscan Congregation during 2010. Valencia parish priest Fr Bonaventure blessed their convent and inaugurated during June 2010. The Superior General of Ursuline Franciscans Sr Doreen D’Souza and her advisor, the nuns of Holy Rosary Convent and Jerosa Convent and other faithful from nearby parishes were present on the occasion.
Mangaluru bishop Dr Aloysius P D’Souza blessed and celebrated the solemn Eucharistic Mass at their chapel on June 22 2010.
Marian Convent was established for educating the nuns and novices of Ursuline Franciscan Congregation. The novices who are undergoing formation for religious life are studying in St Aloysius PU College are housed in the convent.
Sr Jenvita Pinto is the superior of convent runs the convent along with Sr Anita Rodrigues, Sr Polet Menezes and Sr Nirmala Mary. The nuns are helping in the parish activities and take active role in Legion of Mary.
