It was established in 1964 for the students in Valencia who find it difficult study further after Class VII at the nearby Infant Mary’s School.  St Gerosa Boarding was established to help the girl students who will drop out because of poverty and other social causes, in order to continue their high school studies.


The boarding was a boon for those girls who were living in remote villages across Mangaluru diocese to pursue their studies and be instilled with Christian values are well settled in their life.

Forty-five students both Christians and of other communities are housed in the boarding that is for poor and Kannada medium students.  The Christian students living in boarding attend catechism classes at Valencia parish.

The nuns of Infant Mary’s convent were serving St Gerosa School till 1972.  Since 1973, nuns of St Gerosa are living in their own convent.  About 1,500 students are studying in St Gerosa School.  Fifty teachers are striving with their selfless service for the students to excel in studies and carve out better future.
