Mangaluru, Apr. 21: After 40 days of the Lenten Season, including the Holy Week the Christian fraternity celebrated Easter with joy and fervour.

The celebration started at 7.00pm.Before the festive mass all the lights were switched off at the church grounds. The Asst PP Fr Joswin D’Souza lighted the Easter Candle from the “New Fire” and carried it to the Altar in a procession. As the candle was taken down the aisle, parishioners lit the candles from the flame, illuminating the area in candlelight.Water was blessed and the Holy water was then sprinkled on all those present.

Fr Arun sang the Exsultet - the Easter Hymn. Five readings from the Sacred Scriptures gave a glimpse of the salvation story of Israel and mankind in general. As the Gloria resounded in the air the image of Risen Jesus got unveiled.

Fr Arun Lobo in his homily highlighted on that we are Easter people. We are empowered with the  spirit of Christ to live a truly Christian life By Jesus rising from the dead has given us a new hope to our life. He had redeemed us from our sins and and give us new life So Christians are Easter people. Our foundation of our Faith is the risen Christ

Constitution of India in konkani was released during the occasion.Parish priest delivered the vote of thanks and wished all the parishioners a very happy Easter.
